The Mount Everest College was established in the year, 1999 under the foundership of Dr. V.Alexander Pao, in the rural, remote, backward, Tribal inhabited, border, etc. area at Senapati District in the State of Manipur away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and noisy roads. The college stands in the wilderness/forested yet, designed to conform to the standards at the national level in higher education. The college which was established inclusively as Co-Education upto Pre-University (PU) level with a few subjects, now grown up leaps and bounds academically as well as physically by introducing Post Graduate for 4 (four) subject, viz, Sociology, English, History and Political Science for the academic year 2023-2024. The college is affiliated to the Manipur University and recognized in 2010 by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act in 1956.  As such, the College has been able to keep a pace towards excellence in higher education. However, we feel that we are still far behind from being well established as an ideal institution. We have never claimed as superficial as we know our shortcomings and limitations.  Nevertheless, the college has a vast potential for further improvement to enable in meeting the challenges at the national and global demands, thus, such potentials and achievements invite recognition by UGC as “Colleges with Potentials for Excellence”.
